Long FUE Package: a fully unshaven hair transplant

The Long FUE package (€6,250) is for patients who want to keep their current hair length. Neither the donor area nor the recipient area is shaved. Grafts are extracted between your long hairs using FUE and implanted, still long, using DHI, which is why it is also called long hair FUE. Medart sets a maximum of 2,500 grafts for this package, and your surgeon decides your exact number after a medical assessment. It suits people who prefer their appearance to change as little as possible after surgery, for example because of business meetings, client-facing work or a busy social life. It is a personal preference, and we plan it with the same care and discretion as every treatment.

Fully unshaven: no shaving in the donor or recipient area, and no hidden shaved strips or windows in the donor area.
FUE + DHI working together: FUE is how the grafts are extracted, and DHI is how they are implanted. They are two steps of one procedure, not competing methods.
Up to 2,500 grafts: this is the limit Medart sets for this package, not a limit of the technique itself. Your number depends on your donor area and the area to cover.
Why the price is different: selecting and extracting grafts between long hairs, and implanting them long, takes more time, skill and technical attention from the team. The price reflects this extra work.

What to expect after Long FUE: the purpose of this package is to avoid shaving, not to give you an instant result. Your hair length is kept, so your appearance changes less in the first weeks, and your scalp heals the way it does after any transplant. The transplanted follicles stay under your skin, while the long hairs attached to them usually shed in the first weeks. This shedding is a normal, expected part of the process, not a sign that the grafts are lost: the follicles remain in place, new growth starts at months 3–4, and the final result appears at 12–18 months. Some redness and small scabs are also normal. Your surgeon will confirm your schedule and advise you personally on when you can return to work.

Mega Session Package: 5,500 grafts or more, planned over two days

The Mega Session package (€6,250) is for medically suitable patients whose plan needs 5,500 grafts or more. Instead of one very long operating day, the procedure is planned over two days during the same trip, with 4 nights in a 5★ hotel, two clinic washes and an 8-month aftercare kit.

Why two days?

A more manageable procedure for you: a large session is spread over two days, so you do not spend one extremely long day in the operating chair. It also suits patients in this graft range who would simply rather not have one long operating day.
A planned daily workflow: the medical team plans the extraction and implantation work for each day, so grafts are handled in a controlled, steady flow.
A plan built around you: your surgeon decides where grafts come from and where they go. More grafts are not automatically better; your donor capacity, hair characteristics, existing hair, the area to cover and possible future hair loss set the limits of your plan.

A Mega Session is one treatment in a single trip, not a second transplant months later. Both operating days take place during the same stay. There is no per-graft charge, and your surgeon sets your graft number after examining your donor area.

If you want stem cell therapy, choose Elite rather than adding it to Premium: Elite costs €200 less (€3,750 vs €3,950) and includes a 5★ hotel. Elite plus the supplement program is €4,100, and Luxury (€4,500) adds a 5★ luxury hotel on top of that. If you want both add-ons, Elite with supplements (€4,100) gives you more for less than Premium with both add-ons (€4,300).

How payment works

The standard package prices above are cash prices per person. The specialized packages are a fixed total of €6,250 per person.
You can also pay by bank transfer or credit card. Your coordinator confirms the exact amount for your chosen method in writing. Card or bank transfer amounts may differ from the cash price.
Your price is confirmed in writing after your free hair analysis, before you book flights. Once confirmed, your package price is fixed. It changes only if the in-person examination changes your plan, and only with your agreement.

Is a hair transplant in Turkey cheaper than in the US, the UK and the rest of Europe?

Usually, yes. In the UK, the NHS says a hair transplant can cost anywhere from £1,000 to £30,000, depending on the extent of hair loss, the procedure and the clinic, and it is not available on the NHS because it is cosmetic surgery. Whether you are comparing with a clinic in the United States, Germany, Italy or anywhere else in Europe, check what each quote includes: many clinics price the procedure alone, or per graft. A standard Medart package has one fixed price that also includes hotel nights, VIP transfers, PRP, medications and aftercare, and the specialized packages include a 5★ hotel, two clinic washes and an 8-month aftercare kit.

Prices in Turkey are lower mainly because rent, salaries and running costs are lower than in Western Europe or North America, and clinics include hotels and transfers at partner rates. How the add-ons support your results

Stem cell therapy and the 6-month supplement program are supportive treatments that complement your surgery. They are most often recommended when the native hair around the transplanted area is thinning, and your surgeon will tell you whether they suit your hair. Surgical technique, graft handling and aftercare are the same in every standard package.

Does the Surgeon Perform the Operation? Who Does What, Step by Step

Short answer

At Medart Hair, in the standard packages, the surgeon personally performs key parts of two of the three major surgical stages and oversees the entire procedure. The three stages are graft extraction, recipient-site incision and graft implantation. The surgeon makes the Sapphire incisions at the frontal hairline and performs the initial DHI implantation that sets the implantation pattern. Experienced extraction specialists carry out graft extraction, and DHI specialists, including surgical nurses, complete the remaining DHI implantation according to the surgeon’s plan and under the surgeon’s supervision.

“Who will actually operate on me?” is the most important question to ask any clinic in Turkey. Clinics often answer it vaguely. Here is our answer, step by step:

What “setting the implantation pattern” means

Before the team continues, the surgeon personally implants the first grafts in the DHI-treated area. This defines four parameters that the team then follows for the remaining DHI implantation:

Graft density per cm²: how closely grafts are placed
Implantation angle: how steeply each hair exits the skin
Hair growth direction: so the new hair blends with your natural pattern
Graft distribution: where single-hair and multi-hair grafts go

This hands-on step establishes the pattern. It does not mean that the surgeon personally implants every graft.

Can the doctor take part in my graft extraction?

You can request it. If you would like the doctor to take part personally in graft extraction, ask for this when you book. It is offered as an extra outside the standard packages, for an additional fee, and depends on the doctor’s availability and that day’s operating schedule, so the clinic confirms it with you in advance.

Who does what in the Long FUE and Mega Session packages?

The same principle applies: your surgeon examines you, designs your plan and hairline, and directs and oversees the medical team throughout the procedure. In a Mega Session, this applies on both operating days.

Sapphire FUE vs DHI vs Hybrid: What’s the Difference?

Sapphire FUE and DHI differ in how the recipient sites are created. With Sapphire FUE, channels are opened first with a sapphire blade and the grafts are placed afterwards. With DHI, a pen-like implanter opens the site and places the graft in one step. In both methods, grafts are harvested with FUE. Every standard Medart package uses a hybrid technique that applies each method in the area where it works best.

FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is how grafts are harvested. Individual follicular units are removed one by one from the donor area, usually the back and sides of the head. At Medart, experienced extraction specialists perform this step under the surgeon’s supervision.
Sapphire FUE describes how recipient channels are opened: with a fine blade made of sapphire crystal, which gives precise control over angle and direction. At Medart, the surgeon personally makes the Sapphire incisions at the frontal hairline, where these details matter most for a natural look.
DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) uses a pen-like implanter that opens the site and places the graft in one movement, giving control over the depth and placement of each graft. Medart uses DHI in the other suitable recipient areas. The surgeon sets the pattern and DHI specialists complete it.
Hybrid (Medart): Sapphire incisions at the frontal hairline plus DHI implantation elsewhere, so you get the strengths of each method at no extra cost.
Long FUE (unshaven): FUE extraction and DHI implantation without shaving, so the hairs stay long. It is available as the Long FUE package.

How Many Grafts Will You Need?

Your graft number is a medical decision, not a product you buy. Your surgeon bases it on the size of the area to cover, the density you want and, most importantly, how many grafts your donor area can safely provide. Medart packages have no per-graft charge: within your package, the price does not change with the number of grafts your surgeon plans. Plans of 5,500 grafts or more are usually done as a Mega Session.

Are You a Good Candidate for a Hair Transplant?

A hair transplant moves your own hair follicles, so it works best when your hair loss pattern is stable and your donor area is healthy. Our medical team assesses this at the free analysis, and your surgeon confirms it at the in-person consultation.

Avoid alcohol and reduce or stop smoking before surgery, as your medical team advises.
Do not dye or chemically treat your hair in the weeks before surgery.

Is a hair transplant painful?

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so you are awake but your scalp is numb. Medart uses needle-free pre-anesthesia, which is designed to reduce the discomfort of the first anesthetic injections. Many patients describe the following days as tight or sore rather than painful, and your medication set includes pain relief.

Possible side effects and risks

Like any surgical procedure, a hair transplant carries risks. The most common effects are temporary:

Swelling of the forehead, usually peaking around days 3–5
Scabs and redness in the recipient area, usually gone within about 2 weeks
Temporary numbness in the donor or recipient area
Shedding: transplanted hairs shed in the first weeks (this is normal), and some native hair may shed temporarily (shock loss)
Folliculitis (small pimple-like spots) during regrowth
Less commonly: infection, bleeding or visible donor scarring. Your 15-day medications, aftercare instructions and follow-up are there to reduce these risks.

How Many Days Do You Need in Turkey? Your Day-by-Day Itinerary

Why are the consultation and surgery on the same day?

Before you travel, the medical team reviews your photos and prepares a provisional plan. On the morning of Day 2, the surgeon examines you in person, confirms the plan and draws your hairline with you. Surgery starts only once you agree. Getting to the clinic

Medart Hair is in Şişli, a central business district on the European side of Istanbul. Your VIP transfer covers both international airports: Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) on the Asian side. Depending on traffic, allow around 1–1.5 hours from either airport. .

Do I need a visa?

As of October 2026, citizens of the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and most other EU countries can visit Turkey visa-free for short tourist stays (generally up to 90 days in any 180-day period). Rules depend on your passport and can change, so check the official Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa information before you book. Turkish rules require your passport to be valid for at least 60 days beyond your permitted stay; with the 90-day visa exemption, that means at least 150 days from arrival, even for a short trip (passport validity rules). Six months is the safest choice. German citizens can also enter with a valid national ID card, according to the German Federal Foreign Office; travelers from other countries, such as Italy, should check their own government’s travel advice.

What to pack

Bring your passport, button-up or zip-up tops (nothing you pull over your head), a list of your current medications, a phone charger and headphones for the procedure day.

Your first 14 days at home: checklist

Wash your hair exactly as shown at the clinic and keep to the routine in your written instructions.
Sleep on your back with your head elevated, using the neck pillow, for about the first 10 days.
Do not scratch, rub or pick at the scabs; let them come off with washing.
Take your medications as prescribed until the 15-day set is finished.
Avoid direct sun on your scalp and stay in the shade when you are outdoors, as your medical team advises.
Avoid alcohol, smoking, heavy exercise, swimming and saunas until your doctor approves.
Send progress photos to the medical team when asked, and get in touch if you notice anything unusual.

When can I fly home after a hair transplant?

Most patients fly home on Day 4 (Day 5 with the Mega Session package), after their post-op check and clinic washes, once the medical team confirms it. Wear a button-up top and take care not to knock your head on the overhead bins. Pack the shampoo-lotion set in checked luggage if the bottles exceed carry-on liquid limits.

When can I go back to work?

Many patients with desk jobs return to work after about 7–10 days, once the scabs are mostly gone and the swelling has settled. If you work outdoors, do physical work or wear a helmet, plan for around 2 weeks and ask your doctor for personal advice.

Can I have a no-shave hair transplant in Turkey?

Does the surgeon perform the entire operation?

At Medart Hair, your surgeon directs the whole operation and, in the standard packages, personally performs key parts of two of the three major surgical stages: the Sapphire incisions at the frontal hairline and the initial DHI implantation that sets the pattern. Extraction specialists and DHI specialists, including surgical nurses, complete the other steps under supervision. Doctor participation in extraction can be requested for an additional fee, subject to availability.

Sapphire FUE or DHI: which is better?

Each has strengths, so Medart Hair combines them. Sapphire incisions give precise control over angle and direction across the frontal hairline, where a natural look matters most, while DHI places each graft with a pen-like implanter in the other suitable areas. Grafts are extracted with FUE in both cases. Every standard Medart package uses this hybrid technique at no extra cost.

Is there a limit on the number of grafts?

Medart Hair sets no fixed graft limit in the standard packages, and there is no per-graft charge. The real limit is medical: your surgeon decides the number of grafts based on the area to cover and how many grafts your donor area can safely provide. The Long FUE package covers up to 2,500 grafts, and plans of 5,500 grafts or more are usually done as a two-day Mega Session. If the scalp donor area is weak, beard or chest hair (BHT) may be used at no extra cost.

Is a hair transplant in Turkey painful?
